In a special evening dedicated to authentic Arab music, we honor the legacy of the legendary Yemeni and Gulf singer Abu Bakr Salem (1939–2017).
Born in Tarim, his artistic journey began at Aden Radio in the mid-1950s, before moving to Beirut in 1958. His path later took him between Cairo and the Gulf capitals, where he first settled in Jeddah and eventually in Riyadh, the city where he passed away in December 2017.
Over the course of his remarkable career, Abu Bakr Salem released dozens of albums and hundreds of songs that became timeless treasures in the Arab musical repertoire. He collaborated with prominent poets, composers, and singers, and left an enduring influence on celebrated voices such as Abdullah Al-Ruwaished, Rashed Al-Majed, and Abdulemjeed Abdullah.
This tribute concert brings to life the melodies he composed and performed, with the distinguished singer Adel Al-Mas, supported by a full choir and conducted by Maestro Dr. Khaled Nouri, who will lead a grand ensemble of nearly 40 musicians and vocalists. It will be a night where authenticity, nostalgia, and artistry unite in harmony.
