Turks at Katara

A cultural festival, presented by Katara Cultural Village and associated with TC T.C. Doha Büyükelçiliği Turkish Embassy in Doha, will be organised by Hexagon WLL. The Festival will take place at Katara Cultural Village between 09 - 12 April 2014. Festival will start with Solo Turk F16 special flight show at 9h April evening at Katara Cultural Village. The official opening will be held with the mini concert of Mehter Ensemble and continue with State Folk Dance Ensemble and Ankara Turkish World’s Music Ensemble’s concerts. Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Modern Dance Group will perform a special show for the opening night. Cultural performances like meddah storyteller, percussion and ney flute performances and interesting workshops about Turkish culture like Ebru - Water Marbling Art, Traditional Turkish Cuisine, Hat - Islamic Calligraphy and Glass Blowing and Forming Art and special workshops for children; traditional Turkish Children Games and traditional Shadow Play. The contemporary art scene of Turkey will also be presented with a special exhibition during the festival. The Grand Bazaar of Istanbul will also be carried to Doha as a small replica bazaar with displays of traditional Turkish products such as rugs, goldsmith, scarves and Turkish delight.
